Scripture
“And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.” — John 1:16
Message
Grace is often spoken of quietly—as if it were merely theological language. But grace is not dull. Grace carries wonder. Grace awakens awe. Grace produces a holy thrill in the soul.
The thrill of grace is the realization that you deserved judgment—but received mercy. That you stood guilty—but were declared righteous. That you were distant—but brought near.
When Isaiah encountered the holiness of God in Isaiah 6, he cried, “Woe is me!” Yet a coal from the altar touched his lips, and his iniquity was taken away. That moment was not just cleansing—it was awakening. Grace does not only forgive; it commissions.
Grace is not permission to remain weak; it is empowerment to live transformed. Paul understood this deeply. Once a persecutor, he became an apostle. He declared, “By the grace of God I am what I am” (1 Corinthians 15:10). Grace did not excuse his past; it redirected his future.
There is a thrill when you realize:
God chose you before you chose Him.
Christ died for you while you were still a sinner (Romans 5:8).
The Holy Spirit dwells within you despite your frailty.
Grace is not a feeling—but it produces joy. It does not ignore sin—but it overcomes it. It does not lower the standard—but it lifts you to meet it through divine enablement.
Many lose the thrill because they reduce grace to routine religion. But when you meditate on the Cross, when you remember the pit from which you were drawn, gratitude ignites again. Salvation becomes personal, not theoretical.
Grace is thrilling because it is undeserved. It is steady because it is rooted in God’s character, not your performance. And it is transformative because it carries divine power.
Never grow familiar with grace. The day grace stops amazing you is the day pride begins creeping in.
Golden Nugget
Grace is not merely God overlooking your sin; it is God overwhelming your weakness with His strength.

Prayer
Father, thank You for the wonder of Your grace. Forgive me for the times I have treated it casually. Restore the awe of my salvation. Let Your grace not only comfort me but transform me. Empower me to live worthy of the calling You have placed upon my life. May I never lose the joy of being redeemed.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
