Today’s Reading:
Proverbs 6–15
Date: Tuesday, 2nd September 2025
To the Faithful Readers
Today’s reading unfolds a treasure of wisdom for everyday life—covering diligence, purity, speech, relationships, and the contrast between righteousness and wickedness. The book of Proverbs is not just advice; it is God’s wisdom breathed into practical living. Every chapter points to the reality that the way of wisdom brings life, while the way of folly leads to ruin.
Reading Instructions
Read Proverbs 6–15 carefully. Notice the warnings against laziness, adultery, and foolish speech. Pay attention to the repeated contrast: “the righteous” versus “the wicked.” Mark the promises of life, health, and favor that flow from walking in wisdom.
Guided Devotional
1. Who is God?
The Source of True Wisdom – All wisdom flows from His character and His word (Proverbs 8:22–23).
The Keeper of the Righteous – He blesses those who walk uprightly (Proverbs 10:3).
The One Who Hates Evil – God despises pride, lying lips, and injustice (Proverbs 6:16–19).
2. What Are the Ways of God?
God’s way is diligence—He calls His people to work faithfully and avoid idleness (Proverbs 6:6–11).
God’s way is purity—He warns strongly against immorality and its destruction (Proverbs 7:21–27).
God’s way is truth—He delights in honesty and integrity (Proverbs 12:22).
God’s way is life—walking in wisdom leads to flourishing, while rejecting it leads to death (Proverbs 15:24).
3. What Is His Character?
Righteous – He establishes the upright and judges the wicked.
Just – He abhors unequal measures and lies.
Protective – He shields those who walk in His wisdom.
Generous – He grants favor, life, and peace to His children.
Golden Nugget
Wisdom is not just knowing what is right; it is living in alignment with God’s truth daily. The righteous flourish because they walk in God’s wisdom.
