Day 69: Trusting God in Times of Uncertainty

Today’s Reading: Isaiah 7–16

Date: Sunday, 7th September 2025

To the Faithful Readers

Today’s passage focuses on God’s guidance, warnings, and promises during times of fear and uncertainty. Isaiah 7–16 recounts the challenges faced by Israel, the threats from enemies, and God’s assurance that His plans cannot be thwarted. These chapters call us to trust in God’s sovereignty, lean on His promises, and respond to His warnings with obedience and faith.

Reading Instructions

Read Isaiah 7–16 attentively, noting the prophecies concerning both immediate and future circumstances. Reflect on God’s messages of hope, the consequences of disobedience, and His overarching control over nations and hearts.

Guided Devotional

1. Who is God?

  • The Sovereign King – He rules over nations and controls outcomes according to His purposes (Isaiah 10:5–7).

  • The Faithful Promiser – God gives clear signs and assurances to guide His people (Isaiah 7:14).

  • The Protector of the Faithful – He provides refuge and deliverance for those who trust Him (Isaiah 16:5).

2. What Are the Ways of God?

  • God calls His people to trust Him even when threats seem overwhelming.

  • God warns of consequences for rebellion but also provides hope for those who remain faithful.

  • God fulfills His promises in His timing and ways, often beyond human understanding.

3. What Is His Character?

  • Sovereign – No plan or enemy can frustrate His purposes.

  • Just – He holds nations and individuals accountable for their actions.

  • Merciful – He offers hope and refuge to those who seek Him.

  • Faithful – His promises are sure and reliable.

and HIS BRIDE (the redeemed) HAS PREPARED HERSELF.”

She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers].

Then the angel said to me,

“Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”And he said to me [further],

“These are the true

and exact words of God.”
