Not by Might, but by My Spirit

Scripture
Zechariah 4:6 — “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.”
Message
There is a point in every believer’s journey where human strength reaches its limit. Vision becomes too heavy, warfare becomes too intense, and destiny becomes too demanding for human effort alone. In those moments, God brings us to the same revelation He gave Zerubbabel: “What I have called you to do cannot be accomplished by human strength — only by My Spirit.”
The kingdom of God does not advance because we are skilled, talented, or powerful. It advances when the Holy Spirit breathes upon ordinary men and turns them into instruments of divine purpose.
Many believers today are exhausted — not because the assignment is too hard, but because they are trying to do spiritual work with human energy. You cannot push down mountains with your bare hands. You cannot carry destiny with human shoulders. You cannot birth the purposes of God through natural strength.
The Spirit of God is the difference.
He is the strength behind the weak, the clarity behind the confused, the courage behind the fearful, and the power behind the surrendered.
Zerubbabel faced a mountain — a massive opposition standing between him and what God had commanded him to build. God did not give him a new tool, a new army, or a new strategy. He gave him a revelation:The mountain will not move because you are strong; it will move because My Spirit is with you.
When the Spirit comes upon a man, what was impossible becomes possible. What was dead comes alive. What resisted for years suddenly breaks open. What seemed immovable begins to crumble before the presence of God.
And this is the beauty of the Spirit’s work:
He does not empower the proud — He fills the surrendered.
He does not anoint the self-sufficient — He rests upon the broken.
He does not move through those who lean on their gifts — but through those who lean on His presence.
Today, God is calling the Church back to dependence.
Back to the upper room.
Back to the altar.
Back to the place where we cry, “Holy Spirit, without You we can do nothing.”
The Spirit of God wants to give you more than comfort — He wants to give you power. Power to overcome. Power to discern. Power to pray. Power to build. Power to endure. Power to finish what you started.
You don’t need more might. You don’t need more connections. You don’t need more ability. You need more of Him. Because the size of the assignment always requires the size of the Spirit who empowers it.
Golden Nugget
The mountain before you will not move by effort or strength — but it will melt before the presence of the Spirit of God.

Prayer
Holy Spirit, I surrender my strength, my ideas, and my plans. Fill me afresh with Your power. Let every mountain before me bow to Your presence. Teach me to depend on You in all things. Work through me, lead me, and empower me to do what only You can accomplish. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Activation Challenge
Today, identify one area where you’ve been relying on your own strength. Lay it before God in prayer and ask the Holy Spirit to take over. Spend at least 10 minutes praying in the Spirit, inviting Him to breathe fresh strength into that area. Listen for His instruction — and obey immediately.
