PRAYING BEYOND YOURSELF

Scripture

"I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men." — 1 Timothy 2:1

Message

Prayer becomes powerful when our vision becomes bigger than ourselves.

It is natural to pray about our own needs—our families, finances, decisions, challenges, and dreams. But God invites us to go further. He calls us to carry others before His throne.

Intercession shifts our attention from "Lord, bless me" to "Lord, use me to become a blessing."

There are people who need someone to pray for them today. There are nations that need the Gospel. There are leaders who need wisdom. There are families crying out for restoration. There are churches that need awakening.

You may never meet some of the people you pray for, but that does not make your prayers insignificant.

Ask God to give you His heart for people.

Let your prayer list become wider.

Pray for your community.

Pray for your nation.

Pray for the nations.

And most importantly, pray that God's Kingdom will come and His will be done on earth.

Prayer

Father, enlarge my heart in prayer. Teach me to carry the needs of others before You. Give me a burden for the lost, the Church, leaders, communities, and nations. Let my prayers agree with Your heart and purposes.
