Scripture
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.”— James 4:8 (NKJV)
Sermon Message
From the beginning of time, God's greatest longing has been for fellowship. Before there was sin, service, or sacrifice—there was relationship. In Eden, man walked with God in perfect intimacy. That walk was broken by sin, but the desire of God for nearness has never changed.
The cross was not merely about forgiveness—it was about reconciliation. It was God’s plan to restore us to the place of intimate communion. The veil was torn, not only to give us access, but to invite us into the Holy of Holies—not occasionally, but permanently.
Prayer altars are holy ground. But unless we go beyond the altar into consistent abiding, our fires will burn out. The altar is the place of death—death to self—and from that place rises a life of intimacy. This is where we don’t just seek His hand, but behold His face.
God is calling His people deeper. Not for performance, but for presence. Not for the crowd, but for the audience of One. He wants to walk with you, to whisper to you in the quiet, to share His burdens, and to make His desires your desires.
When we answer the call to intimacy, our lives shift from doing for God to being with God. Our strength no longer comes from gifting, but from union. And it is from this place of abiding that true fruit is born.
Intimacy is where lovers of God are formed—not in public platforms, but in private devotion.
Golden Nugget
You were not created to visit God—you were created to walk with Him.

Prayer
Father, I respond to Your call. I don’t want to live a life distant from Your heart. Teach me to draw near, not just in crisis but in constant devotion. Let me love Your presence more than anything else this world offers. Create in me a hunger that cannot be satisfied by anything but You. Lead me into deeper waters—until I lose myself in Your love. Amen.
