Scripture:
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that He may lift you up in due time.” – 1 Peter 5:6
Message
Humility is not weakness—it is strength under God’s control. It is not thinking less of yourself but thinking of yourself less and esteeming God and others more highly. In a world that prizes pride, recognition, and self-promotion, humility is a Kingdom virtue that sets believers apart.
Jesus Christ, though equal with God, chose humility. He emptied Himself, took on the form of a servant, and became obedient to death on the cross (Philippians 2:6–8). His path to glory was paved with humility, showing us that the way up in God’s Kingdom is always down in surrender.
Walking in humility means acknowledging that everything you have—your gifts, your wisdom, your achievements—comes from God. Pride whispers, “I did this on my own.” Humility declares, “If not for the
Lord, I would not stand.” Pride shuts the door to grace, but humility attracts it, for the Bible says, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble” (James 4:6).
Humility also shapes how we relate to others. It teaches us to serve without seeking applause, to listen before speaking, and to honor others above ourselves. True humility does not need recognition—it finds joy in glorifying God and uplifting others.
To walk in humility is to walk in the footsteps of Christ. It is a daily choice to surrender pride, resist self-exaltation, and embrace the lowly path of obedience. And the promise is clear: those who humble themselves will be lifted in due time—not by man’s hand, but by God’s.
Golden Nugget
Humility is the pathway to greatness in the Kingdom; when you go low before God, He raises you high in His time.
Further Study

Micah 6:8 – “And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Prayer
Father, clothe me with the spirit of humility. Deliver me from pride, self-reliance, and the need for recognition. Teach me to follow Christ’s example of servanthood, and let my life bring glory to You alone. May I walk in humility daily, lifting others up and trusting You to lift me in Your time. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
