Scripture:
Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” – Colossians 3:2–3
Message
Where your mind is set, your life will follow. If your thoughts are consumed with earthly worries, possessions, and pursuits, your heart will be anchored in this passing world. But if your mind is set on things above—on Christ, His Kingdom, His promises—you will live with a heavenly perspective, unshaken by the shifting sands of life.
Paul reminds us that when we came to Christ, we died to the old life. Our identity, purpose, and destiny are no longer rooted in this world but hidden with Christ in God. This means that our thoughts must rise above the temporary to embrace the eternal.
To set your mind on things above is an act of intentional focus. It is not denial of earthly responsibilities but seeing them through the lens of eternity. For example, work is no longer just about earning money—it becomes a platform to glorify Christ. Relationships are no longer just social bonds—they become opportunities to demonstrate God’s love. Suffering is no longer meaningless—it becomes a refining fire preparing us for eternal glory.
The enemy will always attempt to pull your thoughts downward—into fear, lust, greed, and despair. But the Spirit calls you upward, reminding you of your true home in heaven. When you set your mind on things above, your values shift, your desires are purified, and your hope is secured. You begin to walk on earth with the mindset of heaven.
Golden Nugget
Your mind is the compass of your soul. If it points upward, your life will align with eternity; if it points downward, your life will be trapped by the temporary.

Prayer
Father, lift my gaze from the fleeting things of this world to the eternal treasures of Your Kingdom. Teach me to set my mind on Christ, who is my life and my hope. Guard me from distractions that pull me downward, and fill my heart with a longing for heaven’s realities. May my daily choices reflect eternal values, and may I live as one whose true home is with You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
