Arrival in Gulu City

When God sends a mission, He always prepares the ground—and that's exactly what we witnessed during the Go Nations Mission to Gulu City in April 2025. In this post, we take you behind the scenes of a powerful spiritual journey that culminated in the launch of the Favour House of Prayer auditorium, a new altar for revival in Northern Uganda. As part of the Go Nations movement, our team traveled through delays, challenges, and divine encounters to see God's purposes unfold in the Acholi region. From vision-casting with leaders to prayer-filled commissioning moments, you'll discover how this mission wasn't just a trip—it was the birthing of a movement. Having walked closely with Dr. John W. Mulinde and the team, I share not only what happened, but what it meant—both for us, and for the future of the region.

Mission Purpose

  1. To Launch the Favour House of Prayer Auditorium in Gulu City. This mission marked the official dedication and commissioning of the Favour House of Prayer, a strategic spiritual altar in Northern Uganda. The auditorium is envisioned to become a hub for intercession, revival, discipleship, and leadership development. Its launch signifies a critical step in expanding the footprint of prayer and kingdom work in the Acholi region. The presence of senior spiritual leaders such as Dr. John W. Mulinde helped to sanctify and bless the facility for its divine assignment. The auditorium will host regional and international gatherings, serve as a training base for missionaries, and become a center for community transformation through spiritual engagement.

Dr. John W. Mulinde shared a profound and stirring message on the revival history of the Desert Fathers, drawing the audience into the ancient wells of spiritual heritage that shaped early Christianity. He recounted how, in the 3rd and 4th centuries, a wave of radical devotion swept across the deserts of Egypt, Syria, and Palestine, as men and women left worldly comfort to seek intimacy with God in solitude. These pioneers of the faith—later known as the Desert Fathers and Mothers—forsook materialism and embraced lives of consecration, prayer, fasting, and silence.

Dr. John W. Mulinde highlighted key figures like St. Anthony the Great, often considered the father of monasticism, who sparked a movement that led thousands into the wilderness to pursue the presence of God. These early revivalists-built communities centered around repentance, discipleship, and spiritual warfare, creating a foundation that influenced both Eastern Orthodoxy and Western monastic traditions. Their lifestyle demonstrated that true revival is born in the hidden place—in the furnace of prayer, discipline, and sacrifice.

Bringing the message home, Dr. John W. Mulinde urged the leaders in Gulu not to simply admire revival history but to draw from it, igniting their own spiritual commitment. He connected the legacy of the Desert Fathers to the mission of Go Nations, emphasizing that national transformation begins when individuals and communities adopt a posture of total surrender and relentless pursuit of God. The Favour House of Prayer, he declared, must become such a place—a modern-day desert altar where revival is birthed through consecrated lives. Live Radio Broadcast on Favour FM Introduces Go Nations Movement to Acholi Region

On Sunday morning, April 13th, 2025, the message of the Go Nations reached the airwaves of Northern Uganda through a live broadcast on Favour FM—a highly influential Christian radio station based in Gulu. The broadcast featured Pr. Joseph Kamara and Pr. Stephen Kyamagwa, two key representatives of the movement, who passionately and insightfully unpacked the mandate and mystery behind the Go Nations vision.

The conversation centered on the biblical foundation of the movement, particularly Matthew 28:19“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…”—a command that has too often been reduced to evangelism alone. The speakers expounded on the depth and divine mystery embedded in this scripture: that Jesus wasn't just commissioning His followers to make converts, but to disciple entire nations, teaching them to obey all He commanded.

They described Go Nations as a global mobilization initiative designed to awaken the Church to this neglected part of the Great Commission. The movement seeks to bring together the Body of Christ across denominations, cultures, and regions, to equip believers with tools, training, and spiritual strategies that lead to transformation at both individual and national levels.

Key topics discussed during the session included:

  • The true meaning of discipling nations, not just individuals

  • The need to rebuild national altars of prayer and repentance

  • Creating structured, reproducible models of Bible training and leadership development

  • Encouraging unity in the Body of Christ as a foundation for national revival

  • The urgency of aligning with God's end-time agenda through intercession, mobilization, and action

Listeners responded with tremendous interest, many calling and texting the station to express their desire to learn more and connect with the Go Nations vision. The broadcast didn’t just inform—it inspired a movement, planting spiritual seeds across the Acholi region and awakening leaders and believers to their divine responsibility.

This radio session marked a strategic turning point in the mission to Northern Uganda, proving once again that media is a powerful altar when consecrated for Kingdom advancement.

The Go Nations team is committed to continued engagement with media platforms to ensure that every ear hears and every heart is stirred to take part in discipling the nations.

The broadcast reached a wide and diverse audience across Northern Uganda, sparking great interest and engagement. Call-ins, text messages, and social media responses reflected deep resonance with the message, and many listeners expressed a desire to learn more and get involved in the movement.

This live session was more than just an informative segment—it was a strategic media outreach that planted seeds of revival in the hearts of listeners. By leveraging the power of Christian media, the Go Nations team was able to extend their reach beyond the physical gatherings, laying a foundation for long-term mobilization across the region.

As the mission continues to unfold, Favour FM stands as a vital partner in broadcasting the message of transformation and awakening to the nations—starting with the Acholi land.

Strategic Pastors Dinner Unites Gulu Church Leaders Around the Go Nations Vision.

On the evening of Sunday, April 13th, 2025, a pivotal pastors' dinner was hosted by Dr. John W. Mulinde at RoseBerry Hotel in Gulu City as part of the Go Nations Mission to Acholiland. This high-level engagement brought together over 55 pastors, church leaders, youth ministers, and marketplace leaders from across denominations for a time of vision casting, fellowship, and strategic mobilization.

A Gathering of Generational and Denominational Influence

The atmosphere was expectant as leaders arrived—many representing diverse church backgrounds and influential networks across Northern Uganda. The event was carefully curated to serve not only as a moment of hospitality but as a strategic encounter for kingdom alignment and collaboration.

Dr. John W. Mulinde, the visionary behind the Go Nations movement, took time to unpack the divine assignment of discipling nations, emphasizing the need for urgency, structure, and measurable impact. He challenged attendees with the sobering truth that every nation is accountable before God, and the Church must rise to its ordained responsibility to bring transformation beyond the pulpit—into the heart of every sector of society.

The message was well received by the attendees. Many leaders expressed their deep resonance with the vision, acknowledging the need for such a movement in the region. One local leader poignantly remarked, “Dr. John W. Mulinde, we wish you had come long ago—we already feel it’s too late for the work. But we are ready, any time, to join the Go Nations movement.”

Key Insights and Action Bites

  • Accountability to the Nation Ordained. Dr. John W. Mulinde challenged every leader to embrace accountable stewardship over the nations and territories God has entrusted to them. He emphasized the importance of having accurate spiritual statistics and measurable impact, stating that the Body of Christ must be intentional and data-driven in fulfilling the Great Commission.

  • Formation of a Regional Steering Committee. In a historic move, Dr. Mulinde spearheaded the formation of a Go Nations Steering Committee for Acholiland, appointing Hon. Concy Lagun to lead it in alignment with existing ministry structures. This marks a new era of regional coordination and apostolic mobilization in Northern Uganda.

  • Movement Resumption Timeline Set. The leadership unanimously resolved to resume the Go Nations movement in Acholi by June 2025, signaling commitment and readiness to engage fully in the work of national discipleship.
