Scripture
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6
“Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God.” — Acts 9:20
Message
One of the most powerful things Jesus does in a person’s life is change their direction. Before encountering Christ, people often move through life guided by personal ambition, cultural expectations, wounds from the past, or the pursuit of temporary success. The path may look impressive to others, but without divine alignment it can lead far from God’s intended purpose.
When Jesus enters a life, He does not merely improve the journey; He redirects the entire path.
A striking example is the life of Saul of Tarsus in Acts 9. Saul was not a careless man. He was passionate, disciplined, and deeply committed to what he believed was right. Yet his direction was completely opposed to God’s purpose. He was traveling to Damascus to persecute believers when Jesus interrupted his journey with a divine encounter. In that moment, the man who was advancing in religious power suddenly realized that his entire direction was wrong.
Notice that Jesus did not simply forgive Saul; He reassigned him. Saul became Paul, the apostle who carried the gospel across nations. The same zeal that once fueled persecution now fueled mission. When
Jesus redirects a life, He redeems even the qualities that once seemed misplaced.
Divine redirection often begins with revelation. When a person truly sees Christ—His authority, His holiness, His mercy—everything else is re-evaluated. Priorities shift. Ambitions are purified. The question changes from “What do I want to do?” to “What has God called me to do?”
This redirection also requires surrender. Proverbs 3:5–6 teaches that the Lord directs the paths of those who trust Him fully and refuse to lean on their own understanding. Human logic may resist God’s direction because His ways often challenge comfort zones. Yet every time someone yields their plans to God, they step into a purpose far greater than personal achievement.
Jesus’ redirection is not random; it is intentional. He aligns lives with eternal impact. Fishermen become apostles. Tax collectors become evangelists. Persecutors become missionaries. Ordinary people become vessels through which God reaches nations.
Many people pray for God’s blessing on their plans, but true discipleship asks a deeper question: Are we willing for Jesus to rewrite our plans entirely? The most fulfilling life is not the one we design for ourselves but the one God designs through us.
When Jesus redirects your life, your path may change, but your purpose becomes clear. Your steps begin to align with heaven’s agenda, and your life becomes part of God’s redemptive story in the world.
Golden Nugget
When Jesus redirects your path, He turns human ambition into divine assignment.

Prayer
Lord Jesus, I surrender the direction of my life to You. Remove every plan that is not aligned with Your purpose and guide my steps according to Your will. Give me the humility to trust Your wisdom even when I do not fully understand the path ahead. Let my life follow the direction of Your Spirit so that every step I take fulfills the purpose You created me for.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
