Today’s Reading: Romans 9–16; 1 Corinthians 1–2
Tuesday, 14th October 2025
Introduction
Congratulations on reaching Day 106 of your Bible reading journey! You’ve now entered some of the deepest and most transformative truths of the New Testament. In today’s reading, Paul unveils the mystery of God’s sovereignty in Romans 9–11, calling believers to trust in His divine plan. He then transitions into the practical outworking of faith in Romans 12–16, showing how grace must shape our daily lives — in humility, love, service, and unity.
As you move into 1 Corinthians 1–2, Paul reminds the church that God’s wisdom is unlike the wisdom of this world. The message of the cross, though foolish to the proud, is the power of God to those who believe. True revelation comes not through human intellect but by the Spirit of God.
This reading calls us to a higher life — one governed by grace, filled with love, and guided by divine wisdom.
Who is God?
God is sovereign and all-wise. He chooses, calls, and redeems according to His divine purpose. He is not limited by human understanding but works all things together for the good of those who love Him. He is the source of true wisdom, revealed through Christ and the Spirit.
What are the ways of God?
God’s ways reveal His absolute authority and unchanging mercy. He extends grace to both Jew and Gentile, humbles the proud, and exalts the humble. His wisdom is hidden from the world but revealed to those who walk by the Spirit. He calls His people to live as living sacrifices — holy and pleasing to Him.
What are His characters?
God is merciful, sovereign, wise, and faithful. He is patient with the disobedient, gracious toward the repentant, and rich in love toward all. He delights in humility and reveals Himself to the pure in heart.
Golden Nugget
“The wisdom of God is not found in intellect or power, but in surrender — for only by the Spirit do we truly see, understand, and live out His will.”
Prayer
Father, thank You for the depth of Your wisdom and the beauty of Your mercy. Teach me to live by the Spirit and not by the flesh. Help me to walk in humility, love others sincerely, and serve faithfully in the grace You have given me. Open my heart to understand Your mysteries and to glorify You in all I do. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
