Today’s Reading: 2 Corinthians 8–13; Galatians 1–4
Friday, 17th October 2025
Introduction
Congratulations on reaching Day 109 of your Bible reading journey! You are progressing faithfully through the New Testament — and today’s reading brings us into two powerful letters where Paul reveals the heart of true Christian living: grace, generosity, and freedom.
In 2 Corinthians 8–13, Paul teaches that generosity is a reflection of God’s grace. The Macedonian believers, though poor, gave joyfully because they had first given themselves to the Lord. Paul reminds us that giving is not a duty but a demonstration of love — a response to God’s abundant grace.
He also defends his apostleship, boasting only in weakness so that Christ’s power might rest upon him. His message is clear: true strength is found in surrender, and true ministry flows from grace.
In Galatians 1–4, Paul addresses a church struggling to mix law and grace. He boldly declares that salvation is by faith alone, not by works of the law. The believer’s identity is rooted in Christ’s finished work — we are sons and daughters, not slaves.
This day’s reading calls us to walk in freedom, humility, and Spirit-led generosity, living fully in the grace that Jesus has provided.
Who is God?
God is gracious, generous, and faithful. He is the Giver of all things, the Redeemer who sets His children free from bondage, and the Father who adopts us into His family through faith in Christ.
What are the ways of God?
God’s ways operate through grace, not performance. He blesses cheerful giving, values humility over boasting, and transforms hearts rather than enforcing external rules. His way is freedom — releasing His people from the yoke of the law into the liberty of the Spirit.
What are His characters?
God is generous, patient, just, and full of compassion. He is the God of grace who takes pleasure in cheerful givers and delights in His children walking in freedom. His character is marked by mercy, faithfulness, and an unchanging love that empowers us to live victoriously.
Golden Nugget
“Grace liberates the heart to give, serve, and live freely — not out of duty, but out of love for the One who gave everything.”
Prayer
Father, thank You for the freedom that comes through Christ. Teach me to walk in Your grace daily and to give generously from a heart of love. Free me from every form of legalism and self-reliance, and fill me with the joy that comes from living by Your Spirit. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
