Day 113 – Faithful to the End — Finishing the Race Well

Today’s Reading: 1 Timothy 6; 2 Timothy 1–4; Titus 1–3; Philemon 1; Hebrews 1

Tuesday, 21st October 2025

Introduction

Congratulations on reaching Day 113 of your Bible reading journey! You are advancing faithfully through the New Testament, and today’s reading takes you into some of Paul’s final letters — filled with wisdom, urgency, and a call to steadfastness.

In 1 Timothy 6, Paul warns against the love of money and urges believers to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness. He reminds Timothy to guard what has been entrusted to him.

In 2 Timothy 1–4, we see Paul writing from prison with profound affection and conviction. He charges Timothy to be strong in grace, to endure suffering for the Gospel, and to remain faithful to sound doctrine. His declaration, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith,” inspires every believer to persevere until the end.

In Titus 1–3, Paul emphasizes good works as the fruit of genuine faith. He instructs Titus to appoint godly leaders and to teach sound doctrine that leads to righteous living.

In Philemon, we witness Paul’s heart of reconciliation and grace as he intercedes for Onesimus — a powerful demonstration of love and forgiveness in Christ.

Finally, Hebrews 1 introduces the supremacy of Jesus Christ — the exact representation of God’s being and the One through whom God now speaks.

These passages remind us that the Christian journey is a race to be finished faithfully, with our eyes fixed on Christ, the Author and Finisher of our faith.

Who is God?

God is faithful and sovereign. He strengthens, guides, and sustains His servants through every challenge. He is the God of reconciliation, righteousness, and eternal reward, who honors those who remain faithful to His call.

What are the ways of God?

God’s ways include calling His people to endurance, holiness, and steadfast faith. He works through challenges to refine His servants, uses relationships to reveal His grace, and reminds His people that their ultimate reward is in eternity with Him.

What are His characters?

God is faithful, righteous, merciful, and just. He is a Father who empowers His children, a Judge who rewards faithfulness, and a Redeemer who restores relationships through His grace.

Textured Paper

Let us rejoice and shout for joy! Let us give Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb has come [at last]

and HIS BRIDE (the redeemed) HAS PREPARED HERSELF.”

She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers].

Then the angel said to me,

“Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”And he said to me [further],

“These are the true

and exact words of God.”
