Today’s Reading: Genesis 21–30 (NKJV)
Reading Instruction
Welcome to Day 3 of our journey through the Bible! Today, we read Genesis chapters 21 to 30. Take time to read these chapters slowly and with expectation. Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you personally through the lives of Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Rebekah, Jacob, and others.
After Reading, Take Time to Reflect:
Who is God in these chapters?
How does God fulfill His promises even when circumstances seem impossible?
What does this section reveal about His character and ways?

Guided Devotional and Reflection
1. Who is God?
Genesis 21–30 continues to reveal God's faithfulness across generations:
Promise Keeper – Isaac is finally born (Genesis 21), proving God is never late, even when the wait is long.
Protector – God watches over Hagar and Ishmael in the wilderness, showing He sees the rejected and hears the outcast (Genesis 21:17).
God of Destiny – He reaffirms His covenant through Isaac and later Jacob, shaping the future of nations.
The God Who Wrestles with Man – Even in Jacob’s deception, God remains present, guiding and refining.
Provider – In famine, in conflict, and in childlessness, God provides: a ram, a well, children, and direction.
2. What Are the Ways of God?
God keeps His word, even when people doubt – Sarah laughed in disbelief, yet God still fulfilled His word.
God sees those who feel forgotten – Hagar’s second encounter with God proves He never abandons the hurting.
God works through imperfection – Abraham lied again, Isaac favored Esau, and Jacob manipulated—but God's plan moved forward.
God builds generationally – He doesn’t just call individuals; He establishes a covenant through families and descendants.
God develops character through process – Jacob’s years under Laban were not punishment but preparation.
Insight:
God is not in a hurry. He moves through seasons, shaping people and fulfilling promises with purpose and precision.
3. What Is His Character?
Faithful – Not one of His promises failed. Isaac was born, wells were opened, and the covenant continued.
Patient – He works with flawed people without canceling His purpose.
Just – He honors covenant, confronts wrong, and preserves righteousness.
Compassionate – He met Hagar in her pain, Leah in her rejection, and Jacob in his loneliness.
Wise – His plans are not always immediate, but they are always perfect.
Golden Nugget
God is never in a rush, but He is never late. What He speaks, He fulfills—in His way, in His time, and for His glory.
Prayer
Father God, Thank You for being a covenant-keeping God. I see how You moved in Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—and I know You are working in my life too. Give me faith to wait, grace to walk in obedience, and trust to follow even when I don’t understand. Teach me to believe You above my fears. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Activation Challenge
After reading, take 10–15 minutes to quietly answer these in your journal or phone notes:
Where in your life are you waiting for God’s promise to be fulfilled?
Which story from today’s chapters encourages you the most? Why?
What steps can you take to walk in obedience today—even while waiting?
