Today’s Reading: Psalms 26–35
Date: Wednesday, 20th August 2025
The Story Behind the Story
These psalms highlight David’s commitment to walk in integrity before God, even while facing enemies and dangers. He affirms his confidence in God’s justice (Psalm 26), pours out cries for mercy (Psalm 28), and erupts in praise for God’s deliverance (Psalm 30).
Psalm 27 is a crown jewel in this section, where David expresses fearless trust: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?” His desire is not just safety, but intimacy—dwelling in God’s presence. Psalm 32 celebrates the joy of forgiveness, contrasting the heaviness of hidden sin with the freedom of confession. Psalm 34 calls God’s people to taste and see His goodness, while Psalm 35 shows the raw battle of entrusting vengeance to God.
Together, these psalms remind us that God delivers those who walk in integrity, cry out for help, and trust Him fully.
Reading Instructions
Read Psalms 26–35 slowly, pausing at the turning points from lament to praise. Let Psalm 27 and Psalm 32 especially sink deep into your spirit—one anchors faith in God’s presence, the other celebrates the power of forgiveness. Ask yourself: Am I walking in integrity before God? Do I run to Him as my salvation?
