Day 6: God Who Sees and Delivers

Today’s Reading: Exodus 1–10 (NKJV)

Reading Instructions

Read Exodus chapters 1 to 10 slowly and prayerfully. In these foundational chapters, we encounter God as the Deliverer. Watch how He begins to fulfill His covenant to Abraham by raising a deliverer, confronting oppression, and showing His mighty hand. Share your reflection with a prayer partner or in the Bible Marathon WhatsApp Group.

Guided Devotional

1. Who is God?

In Exodus 1–10, God reveals Himself in new and powerful ways:

  • The God Who Sees – “I have surely seen the oppression of My people…” (Exodus 3:7).

  • The Covenant Keeper – He remembers His promises to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Exodus 2:24).

  • The I AM – He reveals His eternal, self-existent identity to Moses (Exodus 3:14).

  • The Rescuer – He sends Moses to deliver His people from slavery (Exodus 3:10).

  • The God Over Nature – He displays His power through the ten plagues (Exodus 7–10).

2. What Are the Ways of God?

  • God raises leaders in secret – Moses spent 40 years in obscurity before stepping into leadership.

  • God speaks through fire and stillness – His voice came from the burning bush, calling Moses by name.

  • God equips the called – Moses felt unqualified, but God provided Aaron and signs to confirm His call.

  • God confronts injustice – Pharaoh’s oppression did not go unnoticed; God moved to liberate.

  • God judges with purpose – Each plague targeted a false Egyptian god, revealing His supremacy.

3. What Is His Character?

  • Holy – “Take off your sandals…” (Exodus 3:5). His presence is not to be approached casually.

  • Faithful – He doesn’t forget the cries of His people.

  • Compassionate – He sees suffering and responds with a plan of redemption.

  • Powerful – No force, including Pharaoh, can stand against His will.

  • Patient – Despite Moses’ doubts and Pharaoh’s resistance, God persists in His plan.

Golden Nugget

God never forgets. He sees your affliction, hears your cries, and is always preparing deliverance—even when you don’t see it.

Prayer

Yahweh, Thank You that You are the God who sees, hears, and acts. Just as You raised Moses to bring deliverance, raise me to fulfill Your purpose in this generation. When I feel inadequate, remind me that You are the I AM—the All-Sufficient One. Give me boldness to confront what enslaves and faith to follow You wherever You lead. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Activation Challenge

Take 10 minutes after reading to reflect:

  1. Where in your life do you feel oppressed or stuck? Ask God to speak to that situation.

  2. Is there something God is calling you to lead, even if you feel unqualified?

  3. What “plagues” or false gods is God dismantling in your environment today?

Textured Paper

Let us rejoice and shout for joy! Let us give Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb has come [at last]

and HIS BRIDE (the redeemed) HAS PREPARED HERSELF.”

She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers].

Then the angel said to me,

“Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”And he said to me [further],

“These are the true

and exact words of God.”
