Day 65: The Fear of the Lord Leads to Life

Today’s Reading: Proverbs 16–25

Date: Wednesday, 3rd September 2025

To the Faithful Readers

Today’s proverbs draw you into the heart of wisdom in matters of leadership, humility, speech, and daily living. These chapters remind us that God weighs the heart, establishes plans, and guides the steps of those who fear Him. The fear of the Lord is not a burden—it is the path to life, honor, and security.

Reading Instructions

Read Proverbs 16–25 thoughtfully, paying attention to how God values integrity, humility, justice, and wise counsel. Note the warnings against pride, dishonesty, and foolish talk. Highlight verses that speak directly to your present circumstances.

Guided Devotional

1. Who is God?

  • The Sovereign Ruler – He directs the steps of man even when plans are made (Proverbs 16:9).

  • The Just Judge – Honest scales and justice belong to Him (Proverbs 16:11).

  • The Defender of the Humble – He honors humility and resists the proud (Proverbs 18:12).

  • The Giver of Wisdom – His wisdom refreshes and preserves life (Proverbs 24:5).

2. What Are the Ways of God?

  • God honors humility above pride.

  • God blesses righteous speech and condemns lies.

  • God calls His people to wise planning but reminds them that He is the final authority.

  • God delights in those who pursue righteousness, justice, and peace.

3. What Is His Character?

  • Faithful – He establishes the plans of the righteous.

  • Wise – His ways are higher and beyond human wisdom.

  • Holy – He abhors evil, dishonesty, and injustice.

  • Protective – He preserves those who walk in His wisdom.

Golden Nugget

To walk in the fear of the Lord is to live under His wisdom and authority, and in that path there is life, honor, and safety.

Prayer

Lord, I submit my plans, words, and ways to You. Teach me to walk humbly, to speak truthfully, and to live wisely. Deliver me from pride, dishonesty, and foolishness. Let my life reflect Your justice and Your wisdom, bringing glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Activation Challenge

  • Review your personal goals and plans this week—ask God to align them with His wisdom.

Let us rejoice and shout for joy! Let us give Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb has come [at last]

and HIS BRIDE (the redeemed) HAS PREPARED HERSELF.”

She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers].

Then the angel said to me,

“Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”And he said to me [further],

“These are the true

and exact words of God.”
