Today’s Reading: Song of Songs 5–8; Isaiah 1–6
Date: Saturday, 6th September 2025
To the Faithful Readers
Today’s readings draw your heart into the height of love and devotion, then shift to the solemn call of God’s holiness through Isaiah. Song of Songs 5–8 closes the poetic celebration of love, commitment, and delight, reflecting both human intimacy and the deeper spiritual longing God has for His people. Isaiah 1–6 confronts the reality of sin, the need for repentance, and the grandeur of God’s holiness. Together, these passages teach that love without holiness is incomplete, and holiness without love is empty.
Reading Instructions
Read Song of Songs 5–8 attentively, noting the expressions of love, longing, and delight. Consider how these images mirror God’s covenantal love for His people. Then read Isaiah 1–6 slowly, reflecting on the vision of God on His throne, the awareness of sin, and the promise of purification and restoration. Meditate on the balance between love and holiness in your own life.
