Guided Devotional
1. Who is God?
In these chapters, God reveals Himself as:
Redeemer – He delivers Israel through the blood of the lamb and the power of His hand (Exodus 12:13, 31).
Defender of His People – He personally leads them by a pillar of fire and cloud (Exodus 13:21).
The God of Miracles – He parts the Red Sea and closes it behind His people (Exodus 14:21–31).
Provider in the Wilderness – He gives water, manna, and victory over enemies (Exodus 15–17).
Lawgiver and Covenant Maker – At Mount Sinai, He gives His commandments and reveals His holiness (Exodus 19–20).
2. What Are the Ways of God?
God moves through sacrifice and obedience – The blood of the Passover lamb was required before freedom came.
God leads His people step by step – He guided them visibly by day and night.
God proves His power over enemies – The might of Egypt crumbled before Him.
God trains His people through testing – In hunger, thirst, and battle, He taught them to depend on Him.
God doesn’t just free—He forms – He gave the Law to establish a holy nation, not just freed slaves.
3. What Is His Character?
Just – His judgment on Egypt was measured, righteous, and final.
Faithful – Every promise to Abraham was now unfolding in real time.
Personal – He invited Moses and all Israel into relationship.
Holy – Mount Sinai shook with His presence. His voice demanded reverence.
Gracious – Though mighty, He still provided daily bread and water to a complaining people.
Golden Nugget
God doesn’t just deliver us from something—He delivers us for something: to know Him, serve Him, and reflect His holiness in the world.
Prayer
Almighty Deliverer, Thank You for redeeming Your people with great power and great mercy. Just as You brought Israel out of Egypt, bring me out of every place of bondage. Write Your law on my heart. Lead me by Your Spirit, and let my life be a reflection of Your holiness and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Activation Challenge
Reflect on today’s 10 chapters and journal your answers to these:
What is your “Egypt”—something God is calling you to leave behind?
How has God already gone before you, parting Red Seas in your life?
Are you living as someone who’s been delivered—for relationship and obedience?
