Day 83: Trusting God Amid Destruction

Today’s Reading: Ezekiel 24–32

Date: Sunday, 21st September 2025

To the Faithful Readers

Ezekiel 24–32 presents sobering visions of judgment, the fall of nations, and God’s call for trust amidst chaos. Through symbolic acts and prophecies, God communicates His sovereignty over nations and His care for His people. These chapters remind us that even in destruction, God is in control and His plans cannot be thwarted.

Reading Instructions

Read Ezekiel 24–32 carefully. Observe the judgments pronounced on Israel and other nations, the symbols illustrating God’s sovereignty, and His warnings. Reflect on how God calls His people to trust Him even when circumstances seem beyond hope.

Guided Devotional

1. Who is God?

  • The Sovereign Lord – He rules over nations, history, and human hearts (Ezekiel 26:7–14).

  • The Just Judge – He executes judgment on sin and rebellion fairly (Ezekiel 28:23–26).

  • The Protector of the Faithful – Even in exile and calamity, He upholds those who remain loyal (Ezekiel 24:14).

2. What Are the Ways of God?

  • God pronounces justice against nations and individuals who oppose His will.

  • God uses prophetic signs and messages to reveal His plans.

  • God calls His people to trust Him, even amid suffering and destruction.

  • God’s sovereignty ensures that His purposes will ultimately prevail.

3. What Is His Character?

  • Holy – He cannot ignore sin or rebellion.

  • Faithful – His promises to protect and restore His people remain true.

  • Powerful – He rules over all nations and history.

  • Merciful – Even in judgment, He provides opportunities for repentance.

Golden Nugget

Even when nations fall and chaos surrounds us, God’s sovereignty and faithfulness remain unshaken. Trust Him, for His plans are higher than our understanding.

Lord, help me to trust You in every circumstance, especially when I face uncertainty or hardship. Strengthen my faith, guide my steps, and remind me that Your sovereignty covers all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Let us rejoice and shout for joy! Let us give Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb has come [at last]

and HIS BRIDE (the redeemed) HAS PREPARED HERSELF.”

She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers].

Then the angel said to me,

“Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”And he said to me [further],

“These are the true

and exact words of God.”
