Today’s Reading: Ezekiel 27–36
Date: Monday, 22nd September 2025
To the Faithful Readers
Today’s chapters contrast the fall of proud nations with God’s promise of renewal for His people. While Tyre, Egypt, and others are judged for their arrogance, God speaks hope to Israel: He will gather His scattered people, cleanse them, and give them a new heart and a new Spirit. This is the turning point—from despair to restoration.
Reading Instructions
Read Ezekiel 27–36 carefully. Notice the lamentations over Tyre and Egypt, then shift your attention to God’s promises of restoration for Israel. Watch for the promise of a new heart and Spirit, which is key to understanding God’s redemptive plan.
Guided Devotional
1. Who is God?
The Sovereign Judge – He brings down proud nations and their rulers (Ezekiel 28:17–18).
The Restorer – He gathers His scattered people and brings them back to their land (Ezekiel 36:24).
The Life-Giver – He breathes new life and Spirit into His people (Ezekiel 36:26–27).
2. What Are the Ways of God?
God resists the proud and brings them low.
God judges nations according to their pride, greed, and violence.
God does not abandon His people forever but restores them with compassion.
God works from the inside out—transforming hearts before restoring the land.
3. What Is His Character?
Holy – He acts to uphold the honor of His name among the nations (Ezekiel 36:22–23).
Merciful – He gives a new beginning to His people, not because they deserve it, but because of His grace.
Faithful – He keeps His covenant and fulfills His promises of restoration.
Golden Nugget
God not only restores what is broken but transforms the heart—giving a new Spirit so we can walk in His ways.
Prayer
Father, thank You for the promise of a new heart and a new Spirit. Remove every hardness from my heart and make me tender to Your voice. Teach me to walk in Your statutes and live by Your Spirit daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
