Day 87: God’s Call to Repentance and His Steadfast Love

Updated: Sep 25

Today’s Reading: Hosea 4–13

Date: Thursday, 25th September 2025

To the Faithful Readers

Today, we dive deeper into God’s heart for His people. Hosea exposes the consequences of rebellion, idolatry, and unfaithfulness, yet consistently shows God’s enduring love and His longing for repentance. This reading reminds us that God’s justice and mercy work together — He disciplines but also draws us back to Himself.

Reading Instructions

Read Hosea 4–13 attentively. Note God’s warnings against sin, His vivid depiction of consequences, and His persistent call to return. Reflect on how His love motivates His correction and restoration.

Guided Devotional

1. Who is God?

  • The Just Judge – He warns of consequences for persistent sin (Hosea 4:6–9).

  • The Loving Redeemer – He seeks to restore His people, even when they rebel (Hosea 6:1–3).

  • The Faithful Covenant-Keeper – Despite Israel’s unfaithfulness, He remains true to His promises (Hosea 12:6–7).

2. What Are the Ways of God?

  • God disciplines to turn His people back to righteousness.

  • God’s love is relentless; He continues to pursue those who stray.

  • God desires both justice and mercy to coexist in His dealings with humanity.

  • God restores hope and promises renewal to the repentant.

3. What Is His Character?

  • Holy – He cannot ignore sin.

  • Merciful – He pursues the lost with patience and compassion.

  • Faithful – His promises endure despite human failure.

  • Righteous – He administers justice to protect His covenant.

Golden Nugget

God’s love is not passive. He confronts sin, calls for repentance, and restores those who turn back to Him.

Prayer

Lord, I acknowledge my unfaithfulness and ask for Your mercy. Teach me to repent sincerely, walk in Your ways, and trust in Your steadfast love. Restore the areas of my life that have strayed, and help me remain faithful to You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Activation Challenge

  • Reflect on any area where you have strayed or compromised; confess it to God and commit to change.

  • Meditate on Hosea 6:1–3 and declare God’s mercy and restoration over your life.

  • Share the message of God’s steadfast love with someone who feels distant from Him.

Textured Paper

Let us rejoice and shout for joy! Let us give Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb has come [at last]

and HIS BRIDE (the redeemed) HAS PREPARED HERSELF.”

She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers].

Then the angel said to me,

“Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”And he said to me [further],

“These are the true

and exact words of God.”
