To the Faithful Readers
Today, we journey through Hosea, Joel, and Amos, witnessing God’s heart for His people. Hosea 14 concludes with a promise of restoration for those who repent. Joel calls God’s people to urgent repentance and highlights the coming Day of the Lord. Amos delivers a stern warning about justice, righteousness, and God’s expectations, showing that obedience and integrity are non-negotiable.
Reading Instructions
Hosea 14: Reflect on God’s restoration and mercy for the repentant.
Joel 1–3: Observe God’s call to repentance and His promise of future blessing and judgment.
Amos 1–6: Note God’s expectations for justice, fairness, and righteousness, and His warnings to those who exploit others or live in complacency.

1. Who is God?
The Restorer: He heals and revives those who return to Him (Hosea 14:4–7).
The Holy Judge: He calls His people to repentance and warns of coming judgment (Joel 1:15; Amos 3:2).
The Advocate of Justice: He demands fairness, righteousness, and integrity (Amos 5:24).
The Sovereign Lord of History: He controls nations and fulfills His promises in His timing.
2. What Are the Ways of God?
God desires heartfelt repentance, not mere ritual.
God calls His people to justice and fairness in all dealings.
God warns and disciplines to awaken His people to righteousness.
God rewards obedience, justice, and sincere devotion.
3. What Is His Character?
Merciful – He restores those who return to Him.
Righteous – He requires justice and integrity.
Sovereign – He rules over nations and history.
Faithful – His promises of blessing and judgment never fail.
Golden Nugget
True repentance leads to restoration, and justice aligns us with God’s heart. God’s mercy is paired with His expectations — obeying Him brings life and blessing.
Prayer
Lord, forgive my failures and guide me in righteousness. Teach me to walk in justice, fairness, and integrity. Help me respond to Your call to repentance and live faithfully under Your sovereign rule. May my life reflect Your mercy and truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Activation Challenge
Examine your life for areas of injustice or compromise; commit to act justly according to God’s Word.
Meditate on Amos 5:24: “Let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream.”
Share God’s call to repentance or encouragement about justice with someone in your community.
