Day 99 – Theme: The Heart of the Kingdom — Living by God’s Word and Ways

Today’s Reading: Luke 11–20

Tuesday, 7th October 2025

Introduction

As we journey deeper into Luke’s Gospel, Jesus intensifies His teaching about the kingdom of God and what it truly means to belong to it. He confronts hypocrisy, exposes the emptiness of religious pride, and calls His followers into genuine faith, humility, and obedience. Through parables and prophetic words, He reveals that the kingdom is not about outward appearances but about hearts transformed by truth and aligned with God’s will.

We also see Jesus facing growing opposition, yet He continues to demonstrate authority through miracles, wisdom in teaching, and compassion for the lost. His words challenge us to examine our priorities, our stewardship, and our readiness for His return. Following Him means embracing His values — loving God wholeheartedly and loving others sacrificially.

Who is God?

God is the righteous Judge and merciful Savior. He searches the heart and delights in humility and faithfulness. He is patient with sinners yet firm against hypocrisy, always inviting us into deeper intimacy and obedience.

What are the ways of God?

God’s ways prioritize the heart over mere outward actions. He calls us to repentance, stewardship, and watchfulness. His kingdom operates on principles of love, justice, mercy, and truth — often in contrast to the world’s values. He teaches us through His Word and the Holy Spirit, shaping us into people who reflect His character.

What are His characters?

God is wise, just, compassionate, and holy. He is patient with our weaknesses but uncompromising about truth. He defends the humble, opposes the proud, and faithfully leads His people into righteousness.

She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers].

Then the angel said to me,

“Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”And he said to me [further],

“These are the true

and exact words of God.”
