TRANSFORMED INTO HIS LIKENESS

Scripture

“But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.” — 2 Corinthians 3:18 (NKJV)

Message

God's purpose for our lives goes beyond giving us information about Him. He desires that we become people whose character reflects His nature.

In Genesis 1:26–27, humanity is created in the image and likeness of God. This reveals the dignity of our creation and the responsibility we carry to represent Him. We were not created to live independently of our Creator, but to reflect His character and fulfil His purposes under His authority.

However, reflecting God's likeness requires more than knowing biblical principles. It involves allowing His truth and Spirit to transform the way we live.

We may know that God is loving, yet still struggle to love those who offend us. We may understand humility but still desire recognition. We may teach others about faithfulness while neglecting our own responsibilities. This is why transformation must reach beyond our knowledge into our attitudes, motives, and actions.

Second Corinthians 3:18 teaches that as we behold the glory of the Lord, we are being transformed into His likeness by the Spirit. As we spend time in God's presence, study His Word, and respond to His leading, the Holy Spirit works within us to make us more like Christ.

Transformation is a journey. There may be attitudes God needs to correct, habits He wants to change, and areas where He is teaching us to trust Him more deeply. Rather than resisting His correction, we should welcome His work in our lives.

Ask yourself today: Do my words reflect Christ? Does my treatment of people demonstrate His love? Are my decisions consistent with the truth I profess?

Remember, the purpose of spiritual growth is not merely to appear religious. It is to become increasingly conformed to the character of Christ.

Let God continue His work in you so that others may see His character through your life.

Golden Nugget

The more we behold Christ and yield to His Spirit, the more our lives can reflect His character.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You for creating me with the purpose of reflecting Your character. I acknowledge that I need Your Spirit to transform me from within. Reveal the attitudes, habits, and motives that do not reflect Your likeness. Teach me to walk in love, humility, patience, purity, and faithfulness. Help me not to be satisfied with knowing Your Word without allowing it to change my life. As I spend time in Your presence and meditate on Scripture, continue shaping me into Your likeness. May my words, actions, and relationships bring honour to Your name and reveal Your goodness to those around me.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

Let us rejoice and shout for joy! Let us give Him glory and honor, for the marriage of the Lamb has come [at last]

and HIS BRIDE (the redeemed) HAS PREPARED HERSELF.”

She has been permitted to dress in fine linen, dazzling white and clean—for the fine linen signifies the righteous acts of the saints [the ethical conduct, personal integrity, moral courage, and godly character of believers].

Then the angel said to me,

“Write, ‘Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb.’”And he said to me [further],

“These are the true

and exact words of God.”
